DescriptionBefore the Prince of Alcea can secure the Dwarven Ruby for the Sword of Heavens, he must first find an ancient magical shield created by dwarven magicians eons ago. The shield was carried into battle against the goblins, but the dwarves that carried it have never been heard from again. Meanwhile, the mysteriously senile Mage entices some of the Children of the Ancient Prophecy to join him in what may be a suicide attack of the Imperial Palace of Emperor Hanchi.
The Contest of Power reaches a critical stage in Tagaret, and gypsy rebels must determine what the Ancient Prophecy means to them. Discover a world of might, magic, and intrigue as the search for the fourth gem of the Sword of Heavens brings danger to a new level.
ExcerptsCastle of Man...
When the lift had been raised five floors, it halted. Alex gazed out at another open battlement. The catapults on this level were larger, and Alex began to see the beauty of the design of the Castle of Man. The third set of five floors confirmed his suspicions as he gazed out at even larger machines on the battlement. The higher they rose, the greater distance the siege machines could reach. On the twentieth floor, Alex saw his first trebuchet. “Come with me, Tork,” commanded the lieutenant as he stepped off the lift. “Keep the others here.” Alex walked alongside the lieutenant to the “Tell me what you see,” ordered the officer. Alex walked up to the crenel and gazed at the pass spread out before him. Hundreds of campfires dotted the pass, their smoke rising to join with the Darkness overhead. The distance was still great, but Alex could pick out the distinctive shapes of the goblins and herds of yaki. He was about to speak when he noticed something else. He squinted into the haze and slowly nodded. “Those are ogres,” Alex reported. "Enjoyed the read highly recommended 5 stars." Once again Writer Tuttle’s fertile imagination holds him in good stead. Dwarven Ruby is filled with all the calenture, fervor of setting and page turning fast paced drama found in the previous offerings crafted by this talented author. Dwarven Ruby brings the reader further into a land where disingenuousness, hegemony and magic rule. We are treated to an enduring saga peopled with characters who continue to advance, evolve and improve in detail with each new offering. Champions have become even more dauntless. Miscreants are more villainous. The young and intrepid have aged, perhaps mellowed a bit but have not lost the gallant verve of spirit. This well written work showcases Tuttle’s fiery passion for the genre. Puissant motivations, propensity for ingeniously interwoven story line, suspenseful lavishly drawn settings are all part and parcel of what we have come to expect from this clever writer. The reader is drawn straight into the ongoing tale from the opening paragraph of this installment and is carried along on an exciting scramble past those who are determined to stop the Prince of Alcea any cost. Interest is sustained right down to the last line when we find Master Khatama has once again sustained a collapse. About the Author

His ability to create a believable world and unique characters is bound to draw a following of readers that will make Richard S. Tuttle a household name. Digital Rights Information
